Astronomical winter officially started at 9:03a today, marking the shortest day of the year – sunset at 4:36p.
The good news is that the days will slowly get longer from here on out (until the summer solstice).
Out of the next 7 days, today will be the coolest. Highs only in the low 50s.
Highs will continue to climb over the next couple of days, getting all the way near 70° Christmas Eve thru Friday. Not record highs, but we’ll be ~20° above average.

Medium rain chances for Monday evening thru Tuesday evening. It won’t rain the entire time, but we could see a few quick showers during this timeframe. This would be a light rain, so a rain jacket should do the trick if you are out doing any last-minute shopping.
A few lingering showers on Christmas Eve morning will be possible, but we’ll have a dry remainder of the day, along with a dry (and warm) Christmas Day.
