We were on Blerg Watch today, but since the sun peeked thru, we never reached the criteria. This is probably a good thing; Blergs are no fun.
The main talk for this blog will be our chances of some wintry precip Thursday night/Friday morning. This also looks to be a challenging forecast.
It seems fairly likely we’ll get some sort of precipitation. Whether it’s plain old rain, sleet, freezing rain, or snow remains to be seen. We’ll be watching what the temperatures will be aloft, along with what the surface temperatures are as well. There are a lot of factors that go into this. And of course, here in Middle TN, a difference of just 1-2° can make a ton of difference.

This particular run of the HRRR (shown below) thinks most of this precip falls as snow, but I will add that it also thinks surface temperatures stay above freezing the entire time – which would cause whatever falls to melt on contact.

“For now, we’ll highlight the highest probability is a cold rain, but there is a low risk of a swath of mixed wintry precipitation somewhere in Middle TN.” – NWS Nashville AFD
Our high temperature on Friday is expected to be ~45°, so even in the low chance we do see any frozen precip, it would likely melt come mid-morning Friday.
We’ll keep y’all posted with all the latest info as it comes in. Bottom line for now, there’s a low-end probability of minor impacts.
Precipitation will likely move out early Friday morning, leaving us with a dry but cool weekend.

Temperatures over the next 7 days will continue to be chilly. Expect to Wake up with temps near freezing and highs only getting into the mid to upper 40s for majority of the days.
