Showers Arrive Later Today, Cold But Dry Thanksgiving

Cloud cover will increase throughout the day and eventually, we’ll get some showers.

Most of the rain will hold off until this evening, and in fact, most of it will fall while we sleep. We could hear a few rumbles of thunder, but there are no severe worries.

A few leftover showers will be possible during the first half of Tuesday, but most of the day should be dry.

If you hear about any severe threat for Tuesday – we are not included in that. That’s for places off to our south and east. However, we could see some non-thunderstorm wind gusts up to 35mph Monday night into Tuesday midday.

Wednesday thru the end of the week continues to look dry.

National View for Wednesday Morning

More specifically, looking at the national view for Wednesday (above), the cold front just off to our east (which is responsible for our rain chances Tuesday) will continue to move away. Behind this cold front, much cooler and drier air will be ushered in. For those traveling, most of you won’t have any issues. You can always go to weather.gov and type in the city/zip code of where you are going for a detailed forecast.

Cool + crisp air will be around for Thanksgiving. We’ll wake up with temperatures around freezing, with highs only reaching the upper 40s. Prepare to bundle up for any Turkey Trots, backyard football games, or deep frying your turkey.

It’ll essentially be a copy + paste forecast for Black Friday and most of Saturday. Cool + crisp air, dry.

Rain chances will start to creep back in late Saturday night, but I think most of it holds off until Sunday. The Titans game on Sunday could be gross.

The National Blend of Models, along with other ensembles, continue to think next week looks very wet. Still just a bit too far out to start getting into specifics such as exact amounts and timing, but it’s certainly possible we could see several inches of rain throughout next week.

As always, we’ll keep y’all updated with the latest info as it comes in. Confidence will continue to increase throughout the week.
