Showers Later Today and Friday, Looking at Thanksgiving

Morning showers have moved thru and there’s more on the way.

HRRR model shows more on/off showers (maybe a rumble of thunder) arriving shortly after lunch, lasting thru this evening. No severe concerns.

Additional scattered showers and (non-severe) storms will be possible throughout the day Friday – mostly likely from the morning thru the afternoon, with maybe some additional rain during the overnight hours. HRRR model gives a guess below:

This particular run of the model shows good news for outdoor dinner plans, HS playoff games, etc., but I’m a little skeptical. Not a bad idea to still have the rain gear handy if you are going out Friday evening.

We could have a few lingering showers early Saturday morning, but we should be left with a dry and warm rest of the weekend. Highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Rain chances return Monday night/Tuesday. Very low rain chances for the busiest travel day of the year (Wednesday).

Models have backed off on the idea of a wet Thanksgiving and now show dry weather with temps around average for this time of year in the 50s/60s. This of course, could change between now and then, but good news for now.

A shot of cold air is expected to arrive shortly after Thanksgiving; we’ll likely be reminded what freezing temps feel like.
