Great Fall Weather Until Sunday

Hard to dial up better Fall weather than what we get today and Saturday.

Crisp, cool mornings with warm afternoons – no rain. Perfect for all the outdoor activities going on over the next ~36 hours – which there is a lot of.

Those going to College Gameday will probably need a light jacket to start off, but you’ll then forget about it.

The nice weather comes to a screeching halt on Sunday when rain chances return.

The Euro model (below) shows rain arriving Sunday morning, on/off throughout the day and tapering off Monday morning.

Scattered rain chances will stay in the forecast thru Wednesday. Probably more “off” than “on” but everyone will likely see some decent rain from this.

Thankfully, no severe concerns, we probably won’t hear any thunder either.

Rainfall totals will generally be around 1-2″ – healthy totals, especially considering its October (our driest month of the year on average).

We are (somehow) one week away from Halloween, so I suppose it’s appropriate to now take a way-too-early look at the weather. This will likely change several times between now and then.

Long-range models indicate that we’ll see seasonal temps and no rain on Halloween. We’ll see, but this would be a forecast I would be okay with.

Speaking of long-range models, it’s becoming increasingly likely that we’ll have a later than average first freeze this Fall. On average, we have our first Fall freeze on October 27th. Currently, models think we stay above freezing thru at least the end of October.
