October is normally our driest month out of the year, and this particular October looks no different.
The CPC released their monthly outlook for October. It shows above-average temps and below-average precip favored.

The first 7-10 days of the month look to follow the “script” quite well.

High temps ~5-10° above average will be around over at least the next 7 days. No real “wow it feels like Fall” in the foreseeable future. I will say, some of the long-range ensembles show some cooler weather arriving around the middle of the month – but that’s out in LaLa land, not to be taken seriously.
No rainfall chances until maybe Monday or Tuesday of next week, but these are low chances as of right now. Models have been trending drier.
Long range models think we do eventually see some rain chances later next week. Models are not to be trusted very much this far out – if trusted at all. We’ll see about it.
