Couple More Rain Chances This Work Week

Lower rain chances today, but they aren’t zero either.

Scattered shower, maybe a storm, can’t be completely ruled out this afternoon or evening. Most of us will probably stay dry though, sorry to the crunchy grass.

HRRR gives a guess – guidance, not gospel:

Rain chances are slightly higher for Thursday, but models aren’t totally sold on this just yet.

Models are in somewhat of an agreement that a line of showers and storms will form along a cold front somewhere in Middle TN sometime Thursday afternoon, but exactly where this line forms in still up in the air.

A good bit of the high-res models (including the HRRR) thinks the line of showers/storms don’t form until the cold front has already pushed thru our area, which would keep us dry.

We’ll see about this, lots can change between now and then. Those with outdoor plans should stay posted. While we aren’t currently outlooked with any severe probabilities, any storm could contain heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.

More rain chances come around Friday evening and linger thru Saturday morning as a second cold front pushes thru. Timing is still a bit iffy, but your Friday night plans, or early Saturday morning stroll could be wet. Good news is rain should clear out by mid-morning Saturday and the rest of our weekend will be dry.

Our reward for dealing with all these rain chances (although we could use the rain), will be cooler and drier air for this weekend.

High temps in the upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday, dewpoints in the 50s. Right on cue for football season.
