Summer Heat Continues, Flirting with 100° Next Week

Although it’ll still be hot on Saturday, we won’t have a Heat Advisory for the first time since Sunday. Heat index values will still be near 100°, but most of us should stay below the Heat Advisory criteria of 105°+.

We’ll return right back to “close to” Heat Advisory criteria by Sunday, and certainly by Monday thru Wednesday.

High temperatures will get pretty close, if not to triple digits Tuesday and Wednesday.

Heat index values will likely reach close to 110°.

That’s brutal. Take precautions if you must be outdoors for long periods of time – take frequent breaks, stay hydrated, and check in on family and friends. Never leave a child or pet alone in your vehicle for any amount of time.

Good news, models continue to think that temperatures relax towards average (near 90°) by the beginning of August.

Daily rain and storm chances continue to remain quite low thru the middle of next week. Chances max out each day at ~25%, so most of us should stay dry. Although an afternoon or evening shower or storm can’t totally be ruled out. Any storm could contain some heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.

The majority of outdoor plans should be dry (although hot), keep an eye on the radar. These summertime storms can pop up pretty quickly.
