Heat Advisory for Thursday, Additional Ones Possible Later This Week

The upcoming brutal heat continues to be the headline of our forecast.

NWS Nashville has gone ahead and issued a Heat Advisory, valid from 12p – 7p on Thursday.

Heat index values up to 107° will be likely.

Heat illness can set in quickly with this brutal combo of temps in the mid 90s and dewpoints in the mid 70s. Please, take it easy if you must be outdoors for long periods of time. Stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, and check in on your neighbors.

Unfortunately, that gross temp + dewp combo looks to continue thru early next week and possibly worsen with high temps climbing up into the upper 90s. More Heat Advisories will be possible.

Our “saving grace” from the heat will be our continuation of medium Wattery chances daily, most likely from midday thru the early evening – although things kicked off earlier for us this morning. If you manage to find a winning Wattery ticket, that will at least cool things down.

Thankfully, no severe weather is expected. But you’ve heard it by now, any storm could contain heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

If you have outdoor plans, stay weather aware and keep an eye on the radar. When thunder roars – go indoors.

One day, this pattern will change – but not anytime soon.
