Light (And Heat) At The End of the Tunnel

Storms will continue thru this evening. Follow along with us on all of our socials, and you can always check the radar anytime on our website here: Radar | Nashville Severe Weather

Storms are expected to remain below severe limits, but heavy rain and frequent lightning may be an issue. Activity should decrease as we get closer to sunset.

Tuesday will be fairly similar to today (Monday). We could see some showers in the morning, followed by additional scattered showers/storms in the afternoon and evening. Still no real severe concerns, but any thunderstorm may contain heavy rain and lightning.

We’ll also have to watch the flash flooding threat will any slow-moving thunderstorm. If you approach a flooded roadway – turn around, don’t drown.

Wattery chances will be lower on Wednesday, but they’ll still exists. Still think we could see an isolated shower/storm in the afternoon and evening, but models seem to think majority of the activity will miss us. Fingers crossed.

Thursday looks like our last day with widespread rain/storm chances at least for a little.

“…with the potential for them to be more organized clusters than random scattered storms. This is because of slight improvements in the environment (more shear and slightly better lapse rates) but they are largely expected to remain subsevere” says NWS Nashville.

Highest chances continue to be in the afternoon and evening hours. Still impossible to try and nail down exactly when/where. Will have to continue to watch for any localized flooding threat with any slow moving storms.

Rain chances finally drop off Friday – and that will continue into the weekend. Which a dry weekend is exactly what we need.

Unfortunately, this dry weather will come with temperatures heating up – as hot as they’ve been all year.

High temperatures will easily make it into the low to mid 90s – paired with dewpoints in the low to mid 70s, this will send heat index values into the 100s.

So, while any outdoor plans this weekend may be dry, the heat may start to become an issue. Remember light clothing, with plenty of water and breaks in the shade and/or A/C.
