5 to 7 Inches Of Rain Possible Over The Next Week

Few showers possible on your way to any Super Bowl parties. No hazardous weather – just some rain. You can check the radar anytime on our website here: Radar | Nashville Severe Weather

Monday out the door temps will be close to freezing, coldest temps we’ve had in some time. Jackets will be a good move.

Temperatures consistently around average throughout the work week.

Still watching our multitude of rain chances this week.

“Rises on area creeks and rivers will become possible by next weekend, with 5 to 7 inches of rain forecast through the next 7 days.” says NWS Nashville.

Thankfully, the rain should be spread out enough to avoid major flash flooding concerns, but creeks and rivers may rise over the week as rainfall totals begin to add up.

Our first big rain will be Tuesday.

The Euro model (below) illustrates rain beginning in the early morning hours of Tuesday – lasting all day. Just rain – no storms.

Anddd more rain Wednesday – although this time around it’ll be more scattered in nature. Euro gives its’ best guess below. Maybe a rumble of thunder, but no severe weather is expected.

Rainfall totals from these two days expected to be in the 2 to 4″ range.

We’ll get a bit of a break Thursday and Friday – both days appear dry.

Another big rain is expected on Saturday/Sunday.

“All things considered, we`ll have another widespread soaking of rain, and there`s potential for thunderstorms as well.” from the NWS Nashville AFD.

Still a way out from this, but the strong storm potential will have to be watched – along with any rising creeks and streams.

We won’t be the only ones expecting lots of rain this week – large swath of the Southeast will also see soaking rains.
