Rain/Storm Chances Today and Wednesday To Beat the Heat

Another hot one, but today some lucky folks will see a shower or storm to help cool things off.

HRRR model (above) demonstrates the potential for scattered showers and storms throughout the evening, with things quieting down after sunset. A few strong to severe storms cannot be ruled out, with lightning, damaging straight-line, and heavy rain being the main concerns. No tornado concerns.

Monday and Tuesday drier air will move in, eliminating our rain chances and allowing the temperature to turn up a few degrees. Heat index values will continue to be in the 100° – 105° range.

Rain/storm chances return Wednesday, most likely timeframe would be afternoon and evening. A couple strong storms can’t be ruled out – lightning and gusty winds the concern.

High temps “only” in the low 90s Thursday before heating right back up as we get into next weekend. Summer gonna summer.
