Scattered Showers/Storms To Help Beat The Heat

Several of us have seen rain thus far this afternoon, a few have even seen some downed trees – thanks to a downburst.

Tree damage + power outages – not cool. However, the rain has taken the heat index from 105° to the upper 80s at BNA.

Outflow boundaries will continue to pop off showers/storms at will, impossible to know exactly when and where. Activity will gradually wind down after sunset.

Tomorrow will be more of the same, except a little less hot and rain will likely be less widespread. The imperfect HRRR model gives a guess.

If you were to see rain, it will be most likely in the afternoon and evening hours. Heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds will be possible in any storm.

Dry weather returns Tuesday and will continue through at least Thursday as high pressure will dominate. The heat isn’t going anywhere, thankfully dewpoints will be tame enough to keep the heat index down.
