Not a whole lot going on today, an outside chance of a quick shower/non-severe storm, but the overwhelming majority of us will stay dry today.
All eyes are on Sunday.

Both of our counties are outlooked with “x” probability occurring within a 25 miles radius of you:
- 30% chance of damaging straight-line winds (with at least a 10% chance of those being 74mph +, hurricane force)
- 30% chance of severe hail (with at least a 10% chance of two inch or greater diameter hail)
- 5% chance of a tornado
And not to be forgotten about, there is a 15% chance of flash flooding within 25 miles.
Multiple rounds of severe weather will be possible throughout the day Sunday, it’ll be important to stay weather aware all day!
Sunday Morning and Afternoon?
Models are hinting at some potential for severe storms are early as Sunday morning and afternoon. However, there is lower confidence in this.

The latest HRRR model shows two lines of potentially severe storms getting reallll close to us, possibly missing us to the north. Models are often wrong, and the placement and timing of these storms could be incorrect. All modes of severe weather would be possible, with damaging straight-line winds being the greatest threat. Again, confidence in this earlier round is low, but doesn’t mean it deserves any less attention! Continue to stay connected for any updates!
Sunday Evening into Overnight
There is greater confidence in one or two waves of potentially severe storms Sunday evening into the overnight hours.

This run of the HRRR model shows two waves of storms, one around dinner time Sunday and the second and final arriving after midnight, into the early Monday morning. There is a lot of uncertainty with the exact timing. All modes of severe weather will be possible, with damaging straight-line winds and hail being the greatest concern, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
With all the uncertainty, it’ll be important to stay connected. We’ll be sending out updates on X as needed. With the severe weather threat continuing into the overnight hours on Sunday, have a way to wake up if a warning is issued for you (NOAA Weather Radio, Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone, wake-me-up app, etc.). Do not rely on sirens as your way of receiving a warning! Spread the news about the potential of severe weather to friends + family.
We should be dry by sunrise Monday and be left with a couple of warm and dry days.
