Elan showed up to a local chapter National Weather Association meeting at I don’t know, age 10? He questioned the sufficiency of CAPE for storms later that week. Now he’s a junior meteorology major at Mississippi State with a mustache that has all the answers. Our ninth generation intern, Elan is locally publicly educated. In high school he played defensive line and sacked quarterbacks. In college his only all nighters are weather streams. He volunteers for the NWS. He frequently calls his mother. He storm chases and storm forecasts. His only fault is calling me “sir.” He blogs for you every day except when he needs time off to go antiquing and/or rescuing cats from trees. Occasionally he’ll wax cars. Modest, he may look like it but be assured he’s never tossed a chair onto Broadway or abruptly left a sketch comedy show. He’s Elan, he gets a tee. All proceeds go to his education.
