AS TEMPERATURE AND DEWPOINT VALUES APPROACH EACH OTHER...SOME DEW WILL BEGIN TO FORM. IN THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION AND LOCATIONS IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY REGION...THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT TEMPERATURES MIGHT TEMPORARILY LOWER INTO THE MID 30S...RESULTING IN QUITE ISOLATED FROST FORMATION. ANY FROST THAT DOES FORM SHOULD BURN OFF BY 8 AM CDT.

Scattered showers and non-severe thunderstorms continue to move across our area and will continue to into the evening hours. Cold front will be reaching our area in the next few hours, but there does appear to be some isolated, straggling showers behind it.

Well…we had another record breaking day today, but we didn’t just break one record…we broke TWO records by hitting 90° this afternoon. We broke the record high temperature for October 19th of 89° that occurred in 2005 AND we broke the long standing record of the latest day with a high temperature of 90° which was previously October 10th and occurred in 1980.

Update: You know that record of 87° set in 1953? Well, we set a new one today. Nashville International Airport, at 2:10 this afternoon, reached 88°.
The Dallas Stars are in town tonight for a 7PM matchup against the Preds. Temperatures as you head for Bridgestone Arena will be in the low 80s to upper 70s. In fact, the warmth outside may make your first row seats next to the ice feel quite refreshing.

Peaceful evening in store for us. Clear skies will prevail through the entire night with temps staying fairly warm, only reaching the mid 70s by 9 PM.
Our Tuesday will look a lot like our Monday, more sunshine and well above average temps.

NWS-Nashville wrote this afternoon: “It won`t be a dry heat, either. [Winds blowing from the S/SE] will keep dew points in the low to mid 60°s both days, so relative humidity values will be elevated to make it a little sticky — but not summertime sticky.”

Regardless, your commute to see either of them tonight will be enjoyable (no guarantees about traffic/parking, though). Weather-wise, nothing wet is forecast, so you won’t need the rain gear. A light jacket may be admissible but not “needed”.

We might as well soak in the moisture. Rain may linger into the evening drive home and probably won’t wind down for everyone until the 10pm news. Even then, spotty showers could meander through the area overnight into Saturday AM.

Tomorrow is the day that Middle TN might, just might, finally see some rain. Mostly cloudy skies expected for the majority of the day with highs building back into the mid 70s.
Update: Models seem to be in more of a “consensus” with when we could see rain tomorrow. The general trend right now is for showers to arrive in the afternoon hour and possibly continue into the evening. Showers will likely be scattered and non-severe.
