Better chances for showers arise later this evening into Sunday morning as a cold front approaches the area. High-resolution models depict this fairly well:
Behind any rain tomorrow morning, winds will become gusty out of the north-northwest (as high as 25mph). Temperatures Sunday will also be falling out of the morning 60s and into the 50s by dinnertime.
Just like that our temps have jumped back into the 60s and are here to stay for the next few days. Mostly clear skies expected for tonight. Continuing into tonight is our main story line of our gusty winds.
If you’re not a fan of the cold temps and have gotten used to a short-sleeves style winter, by tomorrow, you’ll be back to the summer wardrobe.
Southerly winds will begin overnight tonight. However, low temperatures tomorrow morning will still be below freezing. It won’t be until the afternoon on Friday that we feel the effects of southerly flow.
All of the severe stuff quickly developed and has quickly moved onto our eastern counties. Both Davidson and Williamson Counties have been removed from the Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued earlier this afternoon.

Timing:
Generally speaking, we could start to see showers as early as sunrise. Models have continued to trend at a morning arrival for the “severe” stuff.
NAM 4 (from 9 PM tonight through 9 PM Tuesday night) thinks tomorrow the heavier rain will pass through in the AM, with some straggling showers through the rest of the day.
The HRRR model’s simulated radar thinks light rain will be close to us around lunchtime.
This will be off/on rain, and really not very much of it. Expect less than 0.10″; rainouts appear unlikely.
It’s cloudy and warmer today because winds are blowing in from the south, carrying moisture and warm temps with it.
Not tonight, not tomorrow, but Monday and Tuesday will be quite interesting. Highs in the 50s will prosper this weekend with a mix of sun and clouds, especially Sunday. Winds are switching from easterly to southerly, and once this happens, temps will start to become noticeably warmer.
