Temperatures warm to the low 80s around the area with some low clouds developing as we approach lunchtime. There is a surface cold front on the way that will pass through late this evening.

Another warm and muggy day is in store for us. Tonight looks like a mess. Hey, at least it is Friday!
The high temperature today will be 81° as clouds arrive later this afternoon.
Why? Well, an upper level shortwave will be swinging through today into Saturday morning. At the surface there is cold front beginning to make its way into Tennessee. This frontal boundary is expected to sweep through tonight, and it’s the reason it going to rain tonight.

The current weathermaker is not Hurricane Joaquin. Our weather is due to an upper level low that has set up camp in the southeast, spinning counterclockwise.
Another dreary day is in store for us. Expect an overcast sky with a high temperature only reaching 64°.

The surface low that is currently in the Gulf of Mexico is pumping in lots of moisture into our area today.

The Fall Equinox was at 3:22 AM this morning, which is when the sun shines directly over the equator. Equinox is latin for equal days and equal nights.
Even though we welcome the fall season, it isn’t necessarily going to feel like fall. We are still wedged in between the a trough and ridge. Humidity has increased today with dew points in the upper 50s this afternoon.
