Morning rain is sliding out of our area. It used up available storm energy.
Those east of Nashville may see strong/severe storms today, but for us additional afternoon rain and storms appear unlikely. We lack storm fuel and forcing needed for another event.
There is a lot of uncertainty in the forecast from today into the weekend. I will do my best to convey that information, so bear with me. This is a difficult and lengthy forecast.

Dew points (humidity) are rising, and so are rain chances.
Today is only the beginning of an active weather week.
Our high should reach around 88°F by mid afternoon. Meanwhile, clouds should increase, swelling and growing into the afternoon. With it, the chance for rain.
The story for the next five days – rain, rain, and more rain.
Dewpoints yesterday skyrocketed. You could almost drown by breathing in the air – well not really, but definitely felt like it.
Late morning rain is coming in now for those along and north of I-40. We are tweeting about that.
Later today there is a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. NWS-Nashville mentions the possibility for a few strong storms this afternoon:

We remember Army Spc. Jason K. Edens.
He was born in Nashville. He graduated from Franklin High School in 2007. After a few semesters in college, he joined the Army then married Ashley. Assigned to the 1st Squadron, 13th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas, he was deployed to Afghanistan in the fall of 2011.
We have a high pressure that is sitting right on top of us.
This high doesn’t seem to be moving anytime soon.
We have a low pressure tracking to our north. We won’t see any rain with this one, so says the HRRR model.
Last year we went from winter to summer. I think we had a half afternoon of spring.
Not this year.

Rain will be moving into the area throughout the day. It looks like there will be two rounds. The first round this morning with another round tonight.
The NAM3 has the first round moving through between 10 AM to 1 PM, second round from 7 PM to 10 PM:
We anticipate fair weather today with warmer temperatures than we had over the weekend. Our high should reach into the mid 80°s. Cloud cover may increase this afternoon. There was rain out west but models think it’ll dry out before those clouds get here mid-afternoon.
