Gusty southerly winds today will drive warmer air into Middle Tennessee quite quickly. With additional sun, we should have no problem reaching the upper 50s to near 60ºF this afternoon. If you can get outdoors, today’s your day!
You may have seen some flurries today, and you may see a few more tonight as some weak energy rolls overhead…enough to manufacture very light snow. No travel impacts or accumulations are expected.
Hopefully you got out and enjoyed today’s warmer temperatures! We’ll be a tad chilly tonight, with the mercury sinking into the upper 40s for overnight lows. You will want a light jacket if you are headed out the door this evening.
Today was the last day under the influence of a northerly wind, so by tomorrow, a southerly wind component is expected to return.
Thursday and Friday will both be beautiful days, each better than the next. Highs Thursday will hover in the mid to upper 50s, but soar into the 60s on Friday.
After a few rumbles of thunder and moderate to heavy rainfall this morning, clouds and precipitation will quickly scoot east this afternoon, leaving us with gradually clearing skies. Temperatures are still expected to climb into the low-mid 60s, since the cold front is still lagging well behind the rainfall.
Happy Friday, everyone. Southerly flow is returning to the area and will continue pumping in warmer air. Afternoon temperatures will peak in the mid 40s, dipping into the low 30s tonight.
Saturday will be a warmer repeat of today, with some additional clouds filtering in from the south. Sunday is a carbon-copy of Saturday, with temperatures climbing into the lower 60s!

NWS Nashville has bumped up snowfall totals slightly for our area, taking into account any heavier pockets of snow that may develop overnight and tomorrow morning. We’ve already seen this system over-perform in portions of north Arkansas and southeast Missouri today, so higher amounts cannot be discounted.
A few snow showers have developed across mainly northern portions of middle TN this morning. Think of someone randomly picking up a snow globe and shaking it for a minute…this is what the forecast for the afternoon will be. Random flurries, with sometimes a little more intense snow shower mixed in. Accumulations will not be of concern, but any heavier burst that develops could lightly cover the grass/elevated surfaces. Snow showers such as these are difficult to detect on radar at times, so if you get any fluffy stuff, send us your images or reports!
This morning, we are dry. Cloudy, but dry. A strengthening south wind (gusting to ~20 mph at times) will continue to pump in moisture, keeping us under overcast skies. Temperatures this afternoon make up for the gloomy conditions, rising into the lower 60s. Any leftover decorations left out or a car that needs to be washed? Probably a better day than any to wrap those tasks up.
