First Frost/Freeze of the Season Likely This Weekend
Friday, November 6, 2026 · Elan
Some legit cooler weather is settling in, which seems very appropriate for the early sunsets – quite fitting.
Afternoons this weekend will be mild at best, with highs only reaching near 60°.
We are likely to finally see our first frost of the season Saturday morning as lows will reach the low to mid 30s. Sunday morning most of us will likely see our first freeze of the season, just slightly behind schedule, with November 1st being our average first Fall freeze.
Monday and Tuesday mornings will also have frost potential. Be sure to protect any beloved plants starting tonight.
Still no meaningful rain chances over the next week. Models start hinting at maybe some chances creeping back in later next week, but those look very meh right now.
Forecast rainfall totals over the next 7 days look like next to nothing. Our recent rain was certainly beneficial, but we’ll need more of that to continue to chip away at our Severe to Extreme Drought.
