Scariest Thing About This Forecast Is 4:50p Sunset on Sunday

Happy Halloween/Candy Getting Day.
Our forecast remains on track – which is good news for candy-deprived kids.
We’ll be dry throughout much of the day. Chances for a sprinkle or light shower will increase just a tad as we get closer to sunset, mostly for those W of 65. However, similar to yesterday, models continue to think that the lowest ~10,000 ft of our atmosphere will be quite dry, making it difficult for any rain to make it to the surface.
I suppose if you’d want to be on the “safer” side for trick or treating – the earlier, the better – but I really do think it will stay mostly dry. And some sprinkles or a light shower sure isn’t going to get in-between any kid and their candy.
With most of the rain holding off today, Sunday – especially the first half, will have most of our weekend rain.
On/off showers will be with us starting off early Sunday morning, tapering off by the afternoon/evening, clearing from W to E. Perhaps a rumble of thunder, but this is likely to just be plain ole’ showers.
Most of us will end up with 0.25 – 0.5″ of rain, some more – some less.
We get a break from the action on Monday before out next system moves in sometime late Tuesday or Wednesday. This will likely bring some much needed, beneficial rainfall for our area. Latest model data suggests we could see between 1-2″ of rain – which is hard to believe since we’ve only seen 1.24″ since the beginning of September – but we sure could use it.
Thunderstorms not out of the question with this system, but no severe weather is currently in the forecast. We’ll keep an eye on things as always – more on this in the coming days.
Although most devices do it themselves, don’t forget we Fall Back tonight. 4:50p sunset on deck for Sunday.
