Continued Good Trends for Dry Candy Getting
Thursday, October 29, 2026 · Elan
Today and Friday will continue to bring us absolutely beautiful weather. Mornings in the upper 40s and afternoons near 80°. A tad warm for late October, but still beautiful.
Trends continue to point towards dry trick or treating, although I’d say confidence right now is only medium. Once we get a view of the high-res models later today, the picture will become more clear.
While some sprinkles can’t be ruled out, signs point to a mostly dry evening. And let’s be real, some sprinkles aren’t going to stop any kids from filling up the pillowcase with candy.
Here’s a loop of nine different models, guessing what the radar could look like at 7p on Halloween.
Again, most thinking we have a dry evening with a few throwing in some sprinkles/light showers.
We’ll keep an eye on the trends and keep y’all posted with all the latest info.
In the event of rain mostly holding off for Halloween, we’d likely deal with scattered showers thru most of the day on Sunday, tapering off around dinner. This would likely be mostly light showers, something an umbrella or rain jacket could handle.
Unfortunately, rainfall totals for Saturday + Sunday look largely unimpressive, only around 0.25″ – 0.5″. Good news for outdoor plans, bad news for our worsening drought.
The updated drought monitor came out this morning and now shows most of our area in an Extreme Drought (Level 3/4).
The good news is that our next system, arriving sometime Wednesday-ish, will likely bring healthy rainfall totals, with models currently suggesting we see at least 1″+ from this. Granted, that could very well change, but good news for now.
No severe weather currently expected over the next 7 days.
