Rain Chances This Evening, Fall Arrives Friday
Wednesday, October 14, 2026 · Elan
We continue our daily record high watch today and Thursday.
The daily record high for both days is 89°, with the forecast both days calling for 90°+.
Our one meaningful chance at rain this week will be this evening, and it’s starting to not look as meaningful.
Recent model runs have trended slightly drier, really just keeping rain chances, perhaps a rumble of thunder, confined to those N of I-40. The main timeframe to see rain (if any) would roughly be between 6 and 9p this evening.
We certainly could use the rain, but it just doesn’t look entirely promising.
Models are guidance, not gospel. We’ll watch the trends throughout the day, it’s possible the cluster of showers/storms hold together better than models think, and we all get a decent rain.
For those with evening plans, including those going to the Nashville SC game, keep an eye out for updates. It won’t hurt to have rain gear handy, although you may not need it. We’ll send out updates on all of our socials throughout the day.
Friday will begin a different season for us, at least it’ll feel like it.
A cold front will swing on thru Friday morning, bringing in some legit fall weather behind it.
Temperatures will actually decrease throughout the day, starting off near 70° as you head out the door in the morning. A brisk NW wind will usher in cooler and drier temperatures, as we get near 60° by dinnertime.
Not only will temperatures drop, but so will dewpoints. They’ll start out near 60°, ending up in the mid 30s by that evening. It truly will be a flip of a switch.
Gusts during the day Friday will get up near 25-30mph, so be sure to secure those inflatable Halloween decorations, or they may end up down the street.
Fall-like weather will stick around thru the weekend and into early next weekend.
Cool mornings and very comfortable afternoons. Sunday morning, we may have a few places in the upper 30s. Don’t think we’ll deal with any frost, but we’ll keep an eye out. No additional rain chances thru the middle of next week.
