Dry Work Week With Above-Average Temperatures
Monday, October 5, 2026 · Elan
The rain we got on Friday was beneficial, but it certainly wasn’t drought-busting. Unfortunately, there’s not much more rain in the forecast – at least this work week.
Temperatures throughout the week will be above average, with highs slowly climbing into the mid 80s. Our average high is 77/78°, so we’ll be nearing 10° above average.
On the bright side, mornings will be cool, waking up in the mid 50s.
Our next rain chances don’t come in the picture until Saturday, potentially Sunday.
There’s a good bit of uncertainty on exactly how this unfolds, and a lot of it will have to do with how a disturbance in the Gulf progresses.
Currently, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of interest in the SW Gulf, giving it a 70% chance to become a tropical system over the next 7 days. There’s plenty of uncertainty with this and how things progress. We’ll be watching it to see if we could potentially get any moisture from it. It’s all Fall Break szn, so those headed to the Gulf Coast over the next week or so should also keep an eye on things.
