Today is the last day we have to deal with the “stupid hot” temperatures for the forseeable future.

Highs again will reach into the upper 90s.

The great news is that after today temperatures finally relax.

We haven’t had a high temperature below 90° this entire month, and it’s likely we finally see that Tuesday and onward. Highs will be around average, and it will actually feel refreshing to step outside in the morning. Yes please.

So now that we are about to solve the problem of being scorching hot, can we solve the issue of being dry? Eh.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible this afternoon and evening.

Some may be left dry, while others could see a decent storm.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked both of our counties with a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles. We are not included in any probabilities for hail/tornadoes.

The HRRR thinks the majority of activity remains off to our east, but models are far from perfect. I’ll pass on any severe weather, but we sure could use the rain.

Additional showers and storms will be possible Tuesday afternoon, but these chances look relatively low at around 30-40%.

Tuesday will be last call for rain this week, as drier air filters into the area afterwards. Which will feel absolutely fantastic, but no rain is not the best news for our grass that continues to get more gold.

Generally, can expect 0.25 – 0.5″ of rain between today and tomorrow, some could get lucky underneath a storm and score more, while some may be left bone dry.
