I am running out of ways to say “it’s hot and dry” – but I’ll do my best.

Our Heat Advisory now runs thru 8p Saturday.

Actual air temperatures will flirt with triple digits each day, with heat index values near 105°. Every single day thru Sunday will have a chance at either a tie or breaking the daily record high.

Y’all know the drill by now. Take care of yourself if you have to be outdoors for long periods of time, and check in on those who may not have access to A/C.

In terms of “cooler” weather, we’ll see temperatures relax a bit into the mid to upper 80s by the middle of next week? I wouldn’t call that cool but it sure is better than whatever this is. Our average high is 84/85°, so technically still above average.

We have yet to have a day below 90° so far in September.

While some of us have gotten lucky, some are still without measurable rainfall this month – including the official rain gauge at BNA.

The HRRR for whatever reason keeps throwing out stray showers in the afternoon for today and tomorrow. I’m all for it, but underneath this incredibly strong ridge – I don’t see that happening.

The next meaningful rain chances don’t come into play until Monday/Tuesday, with some light showers possible. This doesn’t seem like a big rainmaker, but it’s at least something.

Expected rainfall totals over the next seven days still don’t look too positive.
