Today, we remember and will never forget the lives that were tragically lost twenty-five years ago.

Most of today will be dry, and some may stay dry throughout the whole day.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible later this afternoon and evening, with chances around 30-40%.

There’s a very low chance that a strong storm or two briefly reaches severe criteria, which is why the Storm Prediction Center has placed us in a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles.

Although the HRRR didn’t do great yesterday, I’ll still show it.

FWIW, it does show some scattered showers and storms later today, along with additional showers in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

It’s possible some outdoor plans get briefly affected this afternoon and evening, including FNL games. I can’t see any rainouts, as any storm would likely be relatively short-lived. We’ll keep an eye on the radar and send out updates on all of our socials as needed.

Saturday was supposed to be the wettest day of the week but has certainly trended drier on all models.

Models now support the idea that besides a couple of showers possible in the morning thru about mid-day, we stay dry. Good news for outdoor plans. Bad news because we could use the rain. This of course, could change in later model runs, we’ll keep y’all updated with the latest.

Sunday will be another dry day, but a hot one for the Titans season opener. Temps at kickoff will be in the upper 80s, quickly reaching the low 90s. These values are measured in the shade, so if you have a seat in the sun, it’ll feel hotter.

Early next week stays dry before low rain chances re-enter the forecast by midweek.

Temperatures will continue to stay nearly 10° above average throughout the week.

Good news, long-range ensembles continue to insist we “cooldown” at least back to average for this time of the year sometime around next week, which would certainly be welcomed. So far, this is the 2nd hottest start to September on record.
