Some of us will stay dry today, while others could see a strong storm.

Overnight, the Storm Prediction Center introduced us to 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles. We are not included in any probabilities for hail/tornadoes.

This threat will come in the form of isolated storms being possible this afternoon and evening. These could popup right over us, so for those with outdoor plans, it’ll be important to stay connected throughout the day. When thunder roars – go indoors. If you plan on being out on the lake today, know the closest place to go indoors and ride out a storm.

The latest HRRR model isn’t super excited about our storm chances, but the HRRR is also not a perfect model. Guidance, not gospel.

Rain chances drop to essentially zero starting Sunday, with that continuing thru the middle of next week.

I certainly won’t be rooting for a strong storm, but a quick shower would be nice, because otherwise – it’ll be hot.

Our Heat Advisory continues thru 8p tonight. High temperatures (barring any rain) will reach into the upper 90s. Ample moisture will send heat index values into the 105-109°.

Continue to take precautions against the heat this weekend. Although thankfully it won’t be as hot starting Sunday, it’ll still be hot. Remember to take breaks and stay hydrated.

We at least will get a few days of highs in the low 90s, which will feel a lot better than the 100° we’ve experienced the past 2 days. Unfortunately, we don’t see a break from the 90s in at least the next 7 days, maybe longer…
