Heat Advisory thru Friday Evening; Stupid Hot and Probably Dry Week

Stupid hot continues.

High temperatures in the upper 90s, pushing 100° will continue over the next several days. Dewpoints won’t be too kind to us either, sending heat index values in the 105-109° range, which has called for our Heat Advisory thru Friday evening.

Please continue to use caution in this heat. Heat-related illnesses can sneak up on anyone no matter what time of the year. Take frequent breaks if you must be outdoors for long periods of time and stay hydrated.

Temperatures will chillax ever-so-slightly by the start of next week. It’ll still be hot (and above average), but just not as hot.

Not a whole lot of legit rain chances to talk about in hopes of cooling us down.

Wattery (water + lottery) chances do return by Friday and continue into the weekend, but coverage will be isolated at best with PoPs only around 10-20%. Hoping for some lucky winning tickets but just don’t think we’ll be able to get many underneath this strong high-pressure system. If any, it would likely be a brief shower/non-severe storm during the afternoon and early evening hours.

Models still show underwhelming rainfall totals over the next 7 or so days. Not the best news as we head into the climatologically driest part of the year.

The Weather Prediction Center is onboard with that thinking, showing minimal rain over the next week.
