As we wrap up August today and move into September, it will feel more like we are ending July and moving into August.

Our average high for this time of year is 86-87°. We passed that at 9:30a this morning…

High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s this week. Pair that with dewpoints in the low to mid 70s and we’ll see heat index values near 105°.

It’s certainly possible we see a Heat Advisory or two this week. Regardless, it’ll be stupid hot.

Although I am sure most of us are ready to turn the page to Fall (I know I am), we aren’t quite there yet. Remember to take precautions against the heat this week, especially those who must be outdoors for long periods of time.

Any chance of rain this week will be very low. Today thru Thursday our chances hang around ~5% thanks to the strong upper-level ridge sitting over us.

Chances increase ever-so-slightly to around 20% for Friday and Saturday. Your typical Wattery chances in the afternoon/evening, but this is several days away so things could change.

Those that do get a winning Wattery ticket could see some halfway decent rainfall totals (like those around Goodlettsville that saw ~1″ of rain yesterday according to radar), but it seems likely that most of us are left dry.
