Couple showers possible this afternoon, NBD. We might stay dry entirely.

We have an outside shot at some damaging straight-line winds later tonight, along with some heavy rain and lightning.

The Storm Prediction Center continues to have us outlooked with a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles. We are not included in any probabilities for hail/tornadoes.

We’ll be watching a weakening I-24 Special as it pushes towards our area later tonight. “Weakening” will be the keyword here, and it’ll be a waiting game to see just how much these storms weaken.

Models are pretty adamant that a sizeable temperature inversion develops aloft tonight. This would cause any storms to become elevated in nature, not allowing them to fully tap into the available storm fuel and wind shear. This would be good news, and certainly limit our severe potential, but not entirely eliminate it.

Latest HRRR model gives a guesstimate on how things look tonight, giving us a rough ETA of midnight – 1a, +/- a couple hours.

Some localized flash flooding can’t totally be ruled out underneath any training storms, although no widespread issues are expected.

Regardless of it these storms are severe or not, they’ll probably be noisy, so certainly possible the kids and/or pets wake you up.

Showers will likely be lingering into Thursday morning, so heads up for your Thursday AM commute, probably will take a few minutes longer than it normally does.

Additional showers and storms are possible Thursday afternoon/evening, although these are expected to remain below-severe limits. Although heavy rain and lightning will be possible with any storm.

Wattery chances drop to ~15% for Friday afternoon/evening before the rest of the weekend stays dry.

Temperature stay fairly steady, with high temps right around 90° – right around average for this time of year. I’ll take that over the upper 90s any day of the week.
