Yesterday ended up being a tad more eventful than expected, but that’s the name of the game.

Today, we continue our stretch of muggy + hot, while dodging (or wanting?) winning Wattery (water + lottery) tickets.

The latest HRRR shows us dodging the winning tickets, although the model is far from perfect.

Similar to yesterday, storms could briefly pulse up and produce some damaging straight-line winds, although we aren’t outlooked for any severe weather probabilities.

Storm motions will also be on the slower side, meaning we’ll have to watch out for localized flash flooding. Don’t expect many widespread issues, but can’t rule out some ponding on roads or some quick rises in streams/creeeks.

We’ll be watching all day, sending out updates on our socials as needed.

Although rain/storm chances hang around, they’ll be much lower at around 10-20% for Sunday thru Tuesday. Majority of us will probably stay dry during this stretch but certainly can’t rule out a stray shower/storm for some.

Coverage of showers/storms will likely increase by Wednesday/Thursday, bringing chances closer to 40-50%. No obvious severe weather concerns right now.

Our temperature + dewpoint combo remains gross.

Highs in the low to mid 90s, with dewpoints in the low to mid 70s. This will send heat index values in the 100-105° range, just below Heat Advisory criteria. Continue to exercise caution if you have to be outdoors for long periods of time, including staying hydrated and taking breaks as needed.
