We have an Extreme Heat Warning in effect from 11 Monday thru 8p Thursday.
Actual air temperatures will be in the upper 90s, pushing 100°. Combine that with dewpoints in the low 70s, heat index values will be in the 105-110°+ range.
“Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.” – NWS Nashville
Knowing the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, along with knowing what to do if you see someone or yourself experiencing these symptoms can be the difference maker.

And always, look before you lock. Never leave kids or pets inside a vehicle, no matter how quick you are “just running inside.”
Only shot at some relief will be Wattery chances returning by Wednesday. Isolated showers/storms will be possible each afternoon/early evening thru the weekend, yes – including the 4th. As of right now, nothing looks like a complete washout and there are no severe concerns. We’ll be able to get more specifics on things as we head later in the week.
For now, the main story, and rightfully so, will be the dangerous heat.
