Strong Storms Possible Sunday Afternoon/Evening

Very nice Saturday ahead. Dry + highs in the mid 60s.

While storms are likely Sunday, the severity of said storms are in question.

Timing wise, our main focus is Sunday afternoon and evening.

The main concern would be damaging straight-line winds and hail, but even this threat looks quite low at the moment. The tornado threat looks non-zero, but very, very low.

Models are just not so sure about the necessary ingredients getting here for severe weather. Moisture, instability (storm fuel), and shear all look quite lackluster. Our overall severe threat is quite low.

The Euro model (below) shows decent coverage of storms, but a lack of ingredients necessary for severe weather.

We’ll be watching, but this looks like a very low-end kind of “threat”. Worth keeping an eye on if you have outdoor plans Sunday, which do not look promising – I’d definitely think of an indoor plan.

After Sunday, rest of the forecast looks seasonally warm and dry.
