Fall officially began at 7:44am this morning, but it certainly has not felt like it today with high temps in the low 90s.
Scattered showers, maybe a storm possible thru this evening, but most of us will stay dry.
Higher rain chances exist Monday and Tuesday.
HRRR model (below) shows shower and storm chances Monday afternoon and evening.
- a storm or two could contain some gusty winds and/or small hail
- rainouts possible depending on the field and where the heaviest rain falls, but not a drought-buster
- no tornado concerns
Additional rain and storms possible on Tuesday.
- similar to Monday, a couple of storms could have some gusty winds and/or small hail, but no tornado concerns
- brief heavy downpours possible, but no flooding issues expected
Rain chances will exist thru the end of the week, but lots still up in the air.
A tropical system is expected to form somewhere within the red shaded region and move into the Gulf later this week. Whether or not we experience any local impacts here is yet to be determined, but it could potentially bring some needed rain. More in the coming days.
