Strong Storms Possible Wednesday, Hot Weather Prevails Throughout the Week

Main headline this forecast will be the low potential for strong to possibly severe storms Wednesday – most likely in the afternoon and evening.

The Storm Predicition Center has outlooked both of our counties with a 5% chance of severe weather within 25 miles.

  • The main concern will be the potential for straight-line winds, lightning, and heavy rain
  • There is currently not a concern for tornadoes
  • Too soon to get into specific timing, a general timeframe of afternoon into the evening seems right
  • Nothing of big concern, but continue to check in for updates, especially if you have outdoor plans

The other headline this week will be the heat.

The good news is Thursday we’ll get a little break from the super-hot temperatures, high temp “only” 90°.

Rest of the week we sweat. In particular looking at Saturday, when it is possible we’ll need our first Heat Advisory of the year due to heat index values getting around 105°. Something to keep in mind if you have outdoor weekend activities planned.
