Storms Possible Today and Wednesday, Good CMA Fest Forecast

Showers, and some storms are already moving thru the area and will continue to do so throughout the day, as illustrated below by the imperfect HRRR model.

There is a decent amount of CAPE (storm fuel) out there, but very little to no wind energy. These storms may become strong briefly, with some gusty winds and small hail, but will not be able to hold on for very long. Flash flooding potential today is low – but not zero. Slow moving storms will have the potential to drop a lot of rain in not a lot of time.

The HRRR model thinks all the rain/storms are gone by dinner time. Not too sure on this, but it’d be nice – fingers crossed.

Similar story tomorrow – scattered showers and storms, some may be on the strong side.

HRRR model gives its’ best guess for tomorrow. Wednesday morning and then again around dinner look like the two main timeframes for any rain. Heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds and small hail all possible.

Some lingering showers may stick around for Thursday morning, but after that we should be left with nice weather for all weekend activities. Low rain chances exist Sunday, but that’s about it. Can’t ask for too much better of a CMA Fest weekend.
