Dry Weekend Ahead.

Thankfully, our severe weather threat is all over, but we are still dealing with some flooding issues. Smaller creeks and streams will slowly recede, but larger rivers such as the Cumberland will take a little bit to crest. If you come across a flooded roadway, turn around, don’t drown!

Although the heaviest rainfall missed us to our north, portions of northern Davidson Co. received 5″+. 9.03″ was reported in Sumner County, the highest CoCoRaHS report in the United States yesterday.

There were likely several tornadoes that touched down around in various places in Middle TN. And although I believe we did not see one in either of our two counties, our neighbors did. Our local NWS office will spend the next several days surveying to determine exactly where these tornadoes occurred. There will be many opportunities to help out our neighbors, but in the meantime, please let local law enforcement and other authorities do their job and stay away from affected areas.

We are left with a dry a slightly cooler (besides today) rest of the week.

No rain chances in the forecast until late Monday, and there are no severe weather chances in the current forecast. Temperatures will slowly warm up throughout the next 7 days, making back into the low 80s by mid next-week. Very nice weather for Steeplechase.
