Not a bad Friday evening. Dewpoints are a bit muggy but temp wise not half bad. We’ll stay dry overnight.
HRRR model (above) thinks rain/storm chances return Saturday AM, lasting thru the afternoonish, conveniently leaving us with a dry Saturday PM. Not worried about severe weather, but a strong storm or two with some gusty winds and lightning cannot be ruled out. When thunder roars, go indoors.
Sunday, the Storm Prediction Center has bisected our two counties in terms of severe risk. Davidson with a 15% chance of severe weather within 25 miles and WillCo. with a 5% chance within 25 miles. A super rough timeframe right now would be afternoon/evening, *but this could change!* Damaging straight-line winds and hail appear to be the main threats.
Besides the rain/storm chances, heat + humidity will not be too kind Saturday + Sunday as heat index values up to 100° possible.
Rain chances relax a bit early next week before picking back up midweek. Temps + humidity combo look fairly tolerable. Still not fall tho.
