A line of rain has arrived. No severe weather/flooding concerns. Can’t rule out an isolated thunderstorm here or there, but most will see just showers.
Showers transition into a wintry mix late tonight as temps dip to at/below freezing. Models are in pretty good agreement as far as precip type/accumulation goes. Not much more than a dusting expected for our area (less than a half inch).
HRRR has backed off of snow a bit and thrown in more sleet:
COLD Air On its Way
Temps tonight drop into the 20s. Below freezing temps plus today’s rain could mean black ice in some spots by tomorrow morning. Most likely on bridges, overpasses, and elevated areas. Warm rain from today could prevent that.
Colder than average temps set in tomorrow. Highs barely get above freezing the next couple days. Brisk wind chills in the teens on top of that.
Dry weather for awhile after today. A little warmer for the weekend. It’ll be awhile before we see temps like today’s again.
