Sun Returns, Hot and Humid for Independence Day Weekend

Thursday

We’re finally getting a break from the rain!

Skies should be partly sunny today with rain chances staying mainly to our south. We can’t rule out a stray shower or storm rolling into your backyard, but for the most part we should stay dry.

Dew points will be in the lower 70s today, making it feel very sticky outside. This also means that the heat index will begin to rise, getting as high as 97 today.

Independence Day Weekend

Break out the grills and get the pools ready!

Skies should be clear for Friday and Saturday.

Dew points will slightly dip into the mid to upper 60s. It will still feel sticky outside, but not as bad as it does today.

Saturday night is still looking good for those fireworks (on TV, or YouTube).

Sunday brings another slight chance of rain, but it looks to be some more scattered showers and thunderstorms. They should begin to pop up in the afternoon hours, mainly after 1 pm. No severe weather is currently in the forecast. Rain/Storms are hard to pinpoint this far out, so some of you may get wet while others stay dry. Keep an eye on that radar if you have any outdoor plans!

Looking Ahead

Another rainmaker Monday and Tuesday. It’s still too early to say how much rain is going to fall (or if it even will), so make sure to keep watching that forecast in the days ahead!

Heat Safety

With those heat indexes reaching the mid to upper 90s, we still need to be practicing heat safety! Below is mostly common sense stuff, but sometimes people forget to be sure to leave no living thing inside a parked car. Your car is an oven. Cracking the windows doesn’t help.
