Hot Today and Tomorrow, Cooler Temps and Showers By Friday

Mostly Sunny This Afternoon, Partly Sunny Tomorrow

Our temps will be pretty warm through the remainder of today and into tomorrow with highs topping off in the mid to upper 80s. Make note that our dew points will begin to creep up a bit today, reaching into the low to mid 60s. While the heat will still be very manageable, we will be starting to get into that sticky feeling category.

Hopefully, our dew point temps will back down a bit tomorrow, so it won’t feel as gross outside as it may today.

An additional note about tomorrow is the small chance of showers. Models have gone back and forth with the idea of a few showers creeping in during the day tomorrow. Earlier this week, models wanted to bring showers in tomorrow. Yesterday and this morning, models were trending more towards that not happening. Now by this afternoon, the latest model runs for the HRRR and NAM3 have showers creeping in tomorrow.

While I’d like to be hopeful and say we will remain dry tomorrow, with the models flipping back and forth, there is no 100% guarantee that we won’t see rain tomorrow. Hopefully, the majority of tomorrow will consist of mostly to partly sunny skies with clouds increasing through the day. Just note that there is a slim chance that we could see some showers.

Showers Return Late Thursday Night, Best Chance Comes on Friday

While we may see some showers during the day tomorrow, that doesn’t really change anything concerning late tomorrow night and Friday’s rain chances. The best chance of rain still appears to be for late Thursday night and Friday.

Showers look to hang around throughout the day on Friday.

NAM Loop 1 AM Friday Through 1 AM Saturday

We could see some heavy rainfall and a few thunderstorms during the day on Friday, especially when the front passes through. However, no strong to severe weather is expected at this point. The “strong” stuff should be confined to our south.

We are expecting to see up to an inch of rainfall when all is said and done.

Sunny and Dry Saturday Through the Beginning of Next Week

Saturday’s Iroquois Steeplechase Forecast

All in all, Saturday is shaping up to be quite a nice day. Temps will top off in the mid 70s, dew point temps will stay in the comfortable low 50s. Those with plans to arrive when the gates open Saturday morning, you may want a light jacket as temps will be in the low 60s at that time. By the first race at 1 PM, temps will reach the low 70s. Sunny skies look to prevail the entire day with only a light breeze.

It doesn’t get any better than this folks.

This entire weekend, and even into the beginning of next week, will be great for any outdoor plans you may have. A high pressure looks to build in, leaving us with nothing by sunny skies. Our temps will begin to creep up through the weekend into next week with highs reaching the low 80s by Sunday and mid 80s Monday/Tuesday. Luckily, our dew point temps will stay rather comfortable.

Our local NWS had this to say about next week in this morning’s discussion:

“The strong ridge is likely to remain in place through the rest of next week, keeping temps warm with no significant rain chances.”
