Cold & Wet. Dress Warm. More Rain Tomorrow.

Showers Ending…for Now

The heaviest rain is east of us, but there is more on the way tonight and overnight.

Today we were on the east side of a low pressure center. Rain was coming from the south.

Friday, the low will move east of us, and we’ll get rain from the west side of the low (the orange arrows), moving north-to-south.

That’ll be the cold side of the low.

Chilly, Rainy Friday

The high will only be 55°. Add a north wind in the 11-14 MPH range, and it’s going to be cold.

The question is: when will rain the end? We aren’t exactly sure. The HRRR model seems to suggest it’ll end before Friday night. but the NAM3 model, below, thinks it’ll rain through the evening, ending some time before midnight (the model below starts at Friday 5 AM and ends Saturday 1 AM, running  in three hour increments). This shuts off the rain around Friday at 10 PM.

One More Shot of Rain Saturday?

A quick shot of rain is seen on the NAM3 model Saturday afternoon. Shouldn’t last more than an hour, and it does not look all that heavy.

We’ll be warming back up after that. Gradual increases in sunshine, albeit not much, on Saturday will push us into the middle 70s during the afternoon. Dry weather will continue, in accordance with a slow warm up into the beginning of next week.
