Sunshine Now Through Saturday, *But* an Afternoon Thunderstorm Could Squeeze in on Friday

Dry Conditions Over the Next Several Days

Have outdoor plans now through Saturday? Well you are in luck. The next few days appear to be filled with plenty of sunshine with highs topping off in the 80s for the rest of the week.

About Friday’s “Shower” Chance

You may have noticed that in the graphic above, it says that we have a 20% chance of thunderstorms on Friday. We are beginning to get to that time of year where we have really warm temperatures and higher dew points, which leads to that afternoon thunderstorm possibility. That is what the 20% chance above represents.

Latest run of the GFS does show a quick bit of precipitation possible in the afternoon on Friday.

Given the afternoon thunderstorm nature, I wouldn’t cancel any plans. Some of us could see this shower, while others probably won’t.

Just know that the chance is there. While we could see a thunderstorm or two, we are not expecting anything severe.

Showers Chances Return Sunday Through the Beginning of Next Week

By Sunday, our calm weather pattern begins to turn a bit more active once again. Current models, like the GFS, show a consistent bit of showers starting Sunday through at least next Tuesday.

Timing and all of that jazz will have to be sorted out closer to next week, but just note that next week (for now) appears to have more showers than this week has had.
