Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until 1AM CST

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Middle Tennessee

* Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 830 PM until 100 AM CST.

* Primary threats include… Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY…A line of severe storms over western KY will track eastward across the watch area late this evening and tonight. These storms will pose a risk of damaging winds and hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles north and south of a line from 80 miles west of Nashville TN to 35 miles east southeast of Nashville TN.

REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.
