Little Rain Chance Tonight, Showers/Storms Return Tomorrow

Current Radar

Tonight: Few Clouds, Outside Chance of Little Shower Late

For the most part, expecting clear to partly cloudy skies through the evening. The early evening time frame should remain rain-free. As we head into the late evening, early early AM hours we have a very slim chance of seeing some showers.

HRRR displays showers just making their way to us overnight.

Any showers we get, if any at all, should be fairly weak.

Thursday: Clear Skies Early, Chance of Rain by Afternoon – Wake Up 75° High 92°

Sunny, hot, and humid start to our forecast for Thursday.

As the day rolls on, our chances of seeing some thunderstorm activity increases. By the afternoon, most models seem to agree that we will see some rain and a few thunderstorms:

We should see these showers coming for us on the radar, giving us a heads up on the timing of when they will reach us. While we should have enough atmospheric stuff going on to produce some thunderstorms, we shouldn’t have enough storm food for there to be severe thunderstorm activity. Could get a few strong thunderstorms, but mostly expecting periods of heavy rainfall, wind, and frequent lightning.

Friday: Sunny Start, Rainy Finish – Wake Up 73° High 90°

Another sunny start to the day on Friday. Max temps have backed off a bit; we may touch 90° by the afternoon. Still will feel muggy outside thanks to our dew points sticking in the low 70s.

Friday into Friday evening we will have a weak frontal boundary passing through our area. This boundary should provide a forcing mechanism to fire off some showers and strong (probably not severe) thunderstorms. Frequent lightning and periods of heavy rainfall are really our only concerns at this time. Most models show a late afternoon/evening arrival time frame for us.

Not expecting a total rain-out of any of your Friday night plans, but maybe a delay depending when the showers roll through.

Some localized ponding of water can be expected Thursday and Friday, expecting around 1-2 inches of rain when all is said and done on Friday.

Weekend Outlook: Mild, Sunny, Small Chance of Rain

My Forecast - Google Chrome 2016-07-13 06.58.41

Slight chance of rain still remains through the weekend, although model guidance has suggested we may not get as much rain as previously forecasted. Temps should cool a bit reaching the upper 80s, maybe touching at 90° on Sunday.
