Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9PM

*The storm prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 1:20 PM until 9:00 PM CT.

*Primary threats include…
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely.

Summary…Thunderstorms expected to increase in coverage and strength across watch area through the afternoon…with some risk for locally damaging wind and perhaps marginally severe hail. Upstream squall line now over far western Kentucky also may impact western parts of watch area later in the day with damaging wind.

Remember…A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.
