Tornado Watch Until 11 PM

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for us tonight.

The Watch will expire at 11 PM tonight.

The ETA of the storms approaching Middle Tennessee is between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Those north of I-40 may see these storms arrive closer to 6:30 PM. Though south of I-40 may see the storms arrive closer to 7:30 PM.

Dangers include

  • several tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
  • scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  • isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

Take steps to prepare for potential tornado now. If a warning is issued, immediately take shelter. Do not seek to shelter from a tornado in a car, RV, or mobile home.

Monitor multiple reliable sources of weather information. You should turn on local TV, channels 2, 4, 5, or 17.

No severe weather warnings will be posted to this website. We will post all warnings and frequent updates on Twitter @NashSevereWx. However, you should have other ways to access warning and other weather information. We should not be your only source.

We think the danger will pass around 10 PM, if not before that.
