5th Warmest November on Record; Clearing Today!

So it is the first week of December… It is time for some quick November facts! Turns out November is the 5th warmest on record for Nashville this year. The average was 55.7°, which is almost 6° above normal! November in 1923 still holds first place for the warmest November so far.

The temperature was not the only thing above normal for the month. Rainfall totals were above normal as well. We received 4.84″ of rain for the month, 0.53″ above normal.

There were no thunderstorms. None.

Now the forecast…

Today – Clearing High: 54°

The cold front continues to push east leaving us with clearing conditions across the area.

It will be cooler today with temperatures reaching the low to mid 50s this afternoon, quickly falling after that. The air will stay dry, with winds out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

There may be a few stray showers passing over the area this afternoon, but majority will stay to the east of us.

Thursday – Seasonal Temperatures Waking Up: 32° High: 50°

We will be waking up to temperatures near or at the freezing mark for Thursday.

No rain in the area for Thursday as high pressure moves in after the cold front.

We will continue to stay under this dry airmass with dew points below 30°.

Friday – Sunshine! Waking Up: 30° High: 54°

Plenty of sunshine for your Friday!

High pressure will be in full control of our weather for the next couple of days leaving conditions nice for any holiday shopping. We will warm up a bit in the afternoon with temperatures in the mid 50s around our area.

Extended: A pleasant weekend is in store for us then rain returns on Monday as another cold front sweeps through. The next front will be fairly weak on Monday with scattered showers in our neck of the woods. Our rainfall totals will depend on the location of a low pressure center, and how fast it will move. We will keep you updated on timing as the week progresses. The rain should be out of here by Tuesday.
